Application of Calcite Calcium Carbonate
- 2021-05-21 -
CLIRIK is a manufacturer of calcite grinding equipment. Calcite of different fineness can be used in different fields. The HGM micro powder grinding mill, YGM raymond roller mill, CLUM ultra fine vertical mill and other equipment independently developed and produced by CLIRIK can be applied to the grinding process of calcite, and can produce calcite powder of 50-3000 mesh. In addition to grinding calcite, it can also be used to grind other ores with a Mohs hardness below 7 (like diatomite, talc, limestone, barite, quartz, etc.). It has been widely used in the industry and has a good reputation. Do you have a need for ore grinding? What are your requirements for the fineness of the finished powder? Calcite is one of the most common natural calcium carbonate minerals, which is widely distributed around the world. Here is an introduction to the classification of calcium carbonate and which downstream application industries it is applicable to?

Heavy calcium carbonate
It is a powder product obtained by mechanical grinding of natural calcite, marble and other ores with calcium carbonate. The bulk density is generally 0.8-1.3g/cm3, and the whiteness is 89%-93%. According to the average particle size, it can be divided into:
Coarse ground calcium carbonate >3μm
Finely ground calcium carbonate 1-3μm
Superfine calcium carbonate 0.5-1μm

Light calcium carbonate
The precipitated calcium carbonate powder product obtained by the chemical reaction has a bulk density of 0.5-0.7g/cm3 and a whiteness of 92%-95%. According to the average particle size, it can be divided into:
Granular calcium carbonate >5μm
Micronized calcium carbonate 1-5μm
Fine calcium carbonate 0.1-1μm
Superfine calcium carbonate 20-100nm
Superfine calcium carbonate <20nm

Nano calcium carbonate
Superfine light calcium carbonate and ultrafine light calcium carbonate are collectively called nanometer calcium carbonate (1-100nm).
Active calcium carbonate: Calcium carbonate obtains active calcium carbonate by surface modification. The most significant difference from inactive calcium is its hydrophobicity.

What type of calcium carbonate do different industries need?

1. PVC wallpaper: 1250 mesh active heavy calcium

2. Silicone glue: superfine heavy calcium (about 2800 mesh)

3. Steelmaking: very thick stone (5-10mm)
