How is barite ground into powder?

Barite looks like crystal, so barite is also called crystal stone. Barite has many uses and needs to be ground into powder or to extract the main barium sulfate contained in it, so barite must be ground into powder before it can be widely used.

The grinding process of barite is material-feeding-crushing-lifting-grinding-classifying-collecting and other processes.

Crushing: The barite is crushed successively by the primary jaw crusher and the impact crusher (or the fine crushing jaw crusher). The jaw crusher is used for coarse crushing of barite, and the impact crusher is used for fine crushing of barite. After being finely crushed, the barite material is sieved with a circular vibrating screen. After the particle size is qualified, it enters the next stage of grinding. After unqualified, it returns to the impact crusher (or the fine crushing jaw crusher) to continue crushing.

Dust removal: The dust generated in the barite grinding process can only be discharged into the air by separating the barite powder from the air through multiple dust collectors, ensuring the environmental protection and pollution-free of the barite production line.

Grinding: The barite powder with qualified particle size is sent to the storage bin by the bucket elevator, and then evenly sent to the barite mill by the electromagnetic vibrating feeder for grinding. The ground barite powder is screened by a classifier. Qualified products are collected by a large cyclone collector, and unqualified products only need to be returned to the grinding rollers of the barite mill for grinding.

The common barite grinding production line is barite grinding mill, jaw crusher, bucket elevator, electromagnetic vibrating feeder and other related equipment. The ultrafine mill is the core equipment of the whole barite grinding. The operation process is relatively simple and automated design. Small size and small footprint, the barite powder produced is of good quality, fineness, high subdivision content and less impurities.

Working principle of ultrafine grindind mill

HGM series ultra fine grinding mill mainly consists of main unit, classifier, powder collector, dust cleaner, blower, muffler, sound-proof room, crusher, bucket elevator, storage hopper, and vibrating feeder.

After being crushed by a hammer crusher, the large materials become small ones and are sent to a storage hopper by elevator. And then evenly sent to the upper distribution plate of the turnplate by vibrating feeder and sloping feeding pipe.
 

When the ultrafine grinding mill is at work, the main bearing and each dial are driven by the electromotor of the main equipment through a reducer. And all the grinding rollers are rolling in the ring channels driving by dial through plunger.
 

The materials are driven to the edge of the turn plate by the centrifugal force and fall down into the grinding chambers. And the materials are repeatedly pressed, crushed, and ground by the rollers in grinding chambers. Then the materials fall into multiple layers and to be crushed and ground continuously to micro powder.
 

 
 

The high-pressure air blower constantly inhales air within the grinding mill. In turn, the airflow with crushed materials is brought to the classifier, whose high-speed impeller will screen the airflow. The unqualified particle size will fall and return to the mill for being reground, while the qualified particle size mixed with air will go into the cyclone powder collector.
 

Most of the qualified powders will fall and exit from the discharging valve at the bottom. A small proportion of the fine powders, with airflow, moves to the dust cleaner and clings to the surface of the filter bags. At the same time, the fine powders clinging to the surface fall down by the sudden vibration of the filter bags, which is caused by the instantly ejected high-pressure gas controlled by the pulse valve.
 

The materials from the above two lots are sent by the conveyor at the bottom to get finished powders packed. In addition, filtered clean air will be emitted from the air outlet of the muffler in the end.
